On October 14, 2021, 18:51, HEAD Aerospace Technology Co. (HEAD) successfully launched two satellites HEAD-2E/2F from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center and entered their planned orbit precisely.
HEAD-2E/2F is the fifth and sixth satellite of HEAD Aerospace’s Skywalker Constellation. The Skywalker Constellation includes 48 satellites, providing global space-based narrow-band Internet-of-Things (IoT) service of DCS, VDES, and ADS-B.
HEAD Skywalker, an advanced small satellite constellation, aims at providing two-way data communication services for machine-to-machine (M2M), AIS, future VDES, and ADS-B across various IoT applications. The Skywalker constellation consists of 48 small satellites, all equipped with multiple payloads including customized LoRa Data, with 12 satellites deployed in sun-synchronized orbit (SSO) and 36 in the lower earth orbit (LEO), in 6 orbital planes with each plane deploying six satellites. With the launch of two more satellites HEAD-2E/2F on October 14th and 14 more satellites expected to be launched by the end of 2021, the entire fleet of 48 satellites, when completed in 2023, will cover 100% of the globe and provide services with a maximum latency of 10 minutes or less in 60° north and south latitudes.
Skywalker’s satellite IoT terminal HDT-M01 is flexible, cost-effective, and easy to deploy. The terminal features integrated earth to satellite communication module and is also compatible with terrestrial GSM to provide advanced narrow-band communication services globally. Its dual GSM and satellite interfaces provide significant cost benefits and ensure reliable data transmission service, ideal for remote monitoring and control of industrial assets in industries such as energy, fishery, forestry, and logistics. Skywalker’s User Module HDM-2CD can easily integrate into other terminals for quick and customizable solutions.
Skywalker Services provide solutions for many Narrow Band Applications including Precision Agriculture, Smart Irrigation, Animal Tracking, Vessel Monitoring, Landslide Prevention, Groundwater Monitoring, and more.
