On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, HEAD Aerospace signed an agreement with Safran Data Systems to provide HEAD Aerospace with a Ground Receiving Station, expected to be delivered by the end of 2022. The agreement signing happened during the prestigious inauguration of the 3900m² extensions of Safran Systems antenna and ground station engineering and production center for satellites and flight tests in La Teste de Buch, France. This extension doubles the site surface area, now spanning 6,850m², to respond to the strong growth driven by the increasing number of space programs to implement.
The Safran Data Systems plant focuses on constructing antennas and ground stations for applications, including data reception from satellites, space probes, and flight test telemetry. These products are used for major space programs and test centers in France and around the world.
In celebration, and to commemorate the inauguration of the expansion of the Safran plant, HEAD Aerospace tasked Superview, 50cm Satellite Imagery over the site for collection during the inauguration. The below images illustrate the impressive expansion of the facilities.

The Superview satellite constellation of 5 on-orbit satellites provides 50cm native resolution satellite imagery. The image above was captured during the ceremony on October 12, 2021, at 12:51 pm. By comparing the imagery of the Google map taken in 2018, Safran Data Systems' impressive expansion is clear to see.
HEAD Aerospace France Managing Director, Kammy Brun was honored to be among several distinguished guests including, Alain Rousset, President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, Marie-Hélène Des Esgaulx, President of the local urban community organization COBAS and prestigious domestic customers, including French space agency CNES, defense procurement agency DGA, Space Command and prime contractors Airbus Defence & Space, Thales Alenia Space and ArianeGroup who were invited to attend the inauguration ceremony.

With this upcoming Ground Receiving (GRS) station in Sweden, HEAD Aerospace will further expand the tasking & receiving capacity of the 45 Earth Observation (EO) Satellites currently in our portfolio (with a further 40+ Satellites expected to get launched in 2022), as well our own Satellite enabled SkyWalker IoT Constellation. HEAD operates and owns the SkyWalker Space-based Internet-of-Things (IoT) constellation with five on-orbit satellites as part of the 48 satellites constellation planned to be fully commissioned in 2023. Two additional SkyWalker Satellites were launched successfully just this week.
